RBC Visa Card Payment Online

I have used on-line banking for years, but there are two features that really annoys me and have complained about frequently, but consistently receive run-around, canned answers that do nothing to satisfy my annoyance.

When I pay my Visa from my current account, the new current account balance shows instantly, but the payment to my Visa takes days. We are in the electronic age, so why the discrepancy? You already have the money, so why does it take days to move it? Why does it take days to show deposit movements, but withdrawals show instantly?

Another thing I do not like. I always like to pay my Visa down to zero at the end of the month, but have discovered that the balance shown is not necessarily accurate and when I think I am paying the balance to zero, a few days later another amount shows up, even tho I have made no new purchases. So once again, why the delay in this electronic age?

Have checked around and other banks show instant payments, so why is RBC so frustratingly slow?
